Beautiful elegant Victorian cake plate. Hand painted with Pink flowers. The rim is scalloped and has a thick band of gold. There are two makers mark on the back. Limoges and L. Straus & Sons.
Interesting facts : Lazarus Straus and his son’s were owners of New York City Macy’s and also operated European companies & factories including Limoges. In 1898, at the age of 88 the father , Lazarus Straus died. And In 1912 one of the son’s ,Isidor Straus died in the sinking of the Titanic at the age of 67 with his wife, Ida. less
