Lithograph on Magnani-Pescia paper. Paper size cm.24,5x cm.17,25 work size cm. 22 x cm. 14,5 Excellent condition, no defects. Aldo Riso was born in 1927 in Santa Maria di Leuca, in the province of Lecce. He applied himself to his studies until he obtained a degree in Law, but at the same time he deepened, from a very young age, his knowledge of painting techniques, preferring the watercolor technique to portray the famous views of his Puglia and more generally of southern Italy. He held his first exhibition in 1956. His artistic imagination consecrated him to a notable market success that led him to exhibit not only in Italy but also in Germany, Austria, France, Greece, Serbia, Spain, Canada, the United States, Mexico, Argentina and South Africa. In the early Seventies he was invited to create a large mural work in Ustica and his love for this island would accompany him throughout his life. His research is characterized by a clear, intense, sunny painting, where the landscapes are flooded by the light that only watercolor can render in its typical transparencies. Houses, boats and fishermen breathe rarefied and suspended under relentless skies and in front of crystalline seas. His work is of interest to important critics and famous figures of culture and entertainment. His works are present in numerous public and private collections. Aldo Riso died in Rome in 2008.
