- These stunning wingback chairs are not only beautiful, but they are also solid, sturdy, and strong. They were obviously made … more These stunning wingback chairs are not only beautiful, but they are also solid, sturdy, and strong. They were obviously made back when furniture was well crafted and built to last. Given that they were found north of Greensboro, NC, it is highly likely that the chairs came from one of the famous furniture houses nearby, such as Thomasville, Hickory, or Bassett (when Bassett was still manufactured here). We believe that the chairs date from the 1960s or 1970s. Our master upholsterer has newly recovered them in a blue and off=white (grey-ish) chinoiserie print featuring blue and navy dragons. The exterior back and sides have been done in a sumptuous Scalamandre fabric called "marine". You will certainly have a pair of chairs like none other when you put these in your living room, front hall, den, bedroom, sun room, or wherever. The chairs measure 29 ½ inches wide by 31 inches deep; they are 44 inches tall with seats that are 18 ½ inches above the floor. less
