- An Italian Faience and Pewter Inkwell, octagonal in shape with stylized raised lion heads on either end and decorated all … more An Italian Faience and Pewter Inkwell, octagonal in shape with stylized raised lion heads on either end and decorated all over in bright green birds, floral motifs, dogs, insects and two figures, the top with four pewter wells. The two at either end have removable cups--perhaps they held candles; the other two wells are fixed in place. At one time, they may have had lids. Signed on the underside, probably by the artist who decorated it. A beautiful accessory for any desk. less
