Absolutely stunning Louis XV style black lacquer over carved wood chaise lounge. A nice petite size measuring only 56" long. The frame features a scrolling leaf and floral design. The deep rose toned upholstery, trimmed with brass tacks, is perfect. This is a solid, sturdy, and well-made chaise lounge waiting for a discriminating owner and a good book. Please read condition report regarding color.

I don't know the history of this piece, but, because of its weight, I think the wood is walnut that was professionally lacquered. The color was impossible to capture with my camera and I could not get my software to correct it. The color is NOT lipstick red and not an orange red. It is a dark rose or a pinkish red color. The last photo is the closest I could get to the color, but is not as dull looking as that photo. Color is tricky. My husband will see a car and say it is gray. I tell him it is green. In the sun it is dull green. On a cloudy day, it is gray. It is actually a green gray. And your vision can come into play with these more complex colors. less
