This is not a midcentury torture devise or thumb-screw. But it is indeed a beautifully crafted midcentury nutcracker of the finest quality solid brass. This is the larger version designed by Austrian icon Carl Auböck and made at his own studio during the 1950s. It has been polished and cleaned over the years so the markings to its backside are rather indistinguishable.
Measurements: L/H: 13 cm (up to), Diameter: 7.5/4.3 cm (body/nut-hole). This piece has an attribution mark,
