Description: Up for sale is a painted Chinese pottery figure of a camel, Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD), boldly and vividly modeled … more Up for sale is a painted Chinese pottery figure of a camel, Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD), boldly and vividly modeled with head thrown back and mouth closed, standing four feet on a triangle base in a walking postures, the tail in the round and flicked up onto the rump, the neck, head, humps and the upper parts of the legs with incised fur markings, carrying between its two humps a large saddle pack molded on both sides with decorative patterns, overall with rusty-red and green pigment traces, good condition with age-consistent degradation and imperfections, possible partial restoration, with a display base, acquired from Sotheby's New York
