A Very Early French Vintage ' Dubonnet ' Striker
Antique pyrogen French advertising match holder DUBONNET Quinquina in white porcelain from 1920
"The Pyrogène", produced by the morlent porcelain factory in Bayeux, with polychrome decorations.
The Bayeux Porcelain Manufacture had bought the company "Le Pyrogène" in Paris. It was run by the family
Morlent, successor to the Kids.
Pyrogens are simply matchsticks, objects very common before the generalization of lighters, because in the absence of electricity, they were necessary both to light a stove as an oil lamp ... or a pipe (pipes were smoked in France during the two hundred years before the appearance of industrial cigarettes in the second half of the 19th century).
This one is superb with classic conical shape, scraper, compartmentalized match holder and Dubonnet inscription
