Chinese framed porcelain Buddhist temple plaque Kuan Yin with sutra, a finely drawn depiction of Kuan Yin, in red and gold, seated in ardha padmasana on a lotus throne supported by heavenly clouds, wearing the crown of Amitabha, with an ornate mandorla and halo, her right hand holding a Buddhist Heart Sutra, her left hand in jnana mudra. All the artwork is done in fine gilt line drawing throughout. The signature, "Minister Ding Guanpeng, respectfully, painting", with two seal marks, is carved to the lower left. Three, large, seal marks are seen at the top of the image. The plaque is mounted in its original, Chinese, hongmu frame, made with fine Chinese joinery and a bronze hanger. The back is intact and removable. Circa Republic of China era or earlier.
