Description: The amber glass apothecary bottle was purchased at Crate and Barrel, from the original store on Wells Street in Old … more The amber glass apothecary bottle was purchased at Crate and Barrel, from the original store on Wells Street in Old town, in Chicago around 1967 when I was a newly wed. We just like the interesting form and the color, and it was a great receptacle for placing pussy willow in our living room. We knew nothing about it and it is only recently that I found out it resembled the work of Otto Brauer (1911-1984) who worked for the Holmegaard glassworks in Denmark, and ”Gulvvase" is the name of this design. Without a label or an original invoice from 60 years ago, I cannot ascertain its authenticity, though I am highly skeptical of reproductions made in the same design. less
