The canvas and frame exhibit expected wear. The canvas does contain expected age cracks, but nothing that draws the eye. Please examine the last two photos to view examples. Please note that the historical card in the photos is NOT on this painting. It's just something I found online and thought it was interesting. less

Reseller confession: I half hope no one buys this for a while. I've become a huge W.T. Carlsen fan over the last few years and I think this painting is absolutely exquisite. I'm going to enjoy it looking at it as long as it's here.
So who was W.T. Carlsen? Wagn Carlsen, better known as W.T. Carlsen, grew up and studied art in Denmark. He moved to Canada in 1954 and, later, the U.S. He achieved success as a commercial artist and illustrator early in his career. After moving to North America, he became well-regarded for his cityscapes. He exhibited in Canada, the U.S., and Mexico, and won multiple awards. While information on him is rather slim, I was able to find out that he eventually moved to New Jersey where focused on landscapes. He also spent at least five years working a frame shop in New Jersey.
I currently have four works by Carlsen in my collection, one of which I will never sell. Since I've been able to view a body of his work, I've noticed that he tends to work within a very defined color palette, which I have come to view as his signature style.
This piece also has another quintessentially Carlsen element, which is the wooden frame painted in metallic tones and the painting sort of "floating" within. I assumed he did the framing himself. less
