Original insert beneath slightly domed glass has been replaced with a very good paper copy of a woman of the age, likely a copy of the previous insert--looks like the real thing. The frame has a hinged easel back as well as a small ring for hanging. A wonderful addition to any tablescape or room! Nice patina, displays beautifully. From the late 1800s to early 1900s, likely of French origin.

Measures 2" w x 1/4" d x 2 1/2" h flat, 2 1/8" h open.

Condition consistent with age and use. There are minor dark spots on the ormolu and the back is missing two of the pieces intended to secure the portrait, as shown. Does not affect display or use. Please see photos for details and condition. less
