It pairs well with lighter colored chairs as we have shown as examples, or darker chairs to bring the iron base into the composition. The stone is not permanently attached, but heavy and held by gravity to the base; this makes it easier and safer to transport.

Wonderful iron (attributed to designer Cleo Baldon) dining table base, designed in the 1970's for Terra. The understated detail in the iron base feels at once Brutalist, yet the stone surface feels rich and luxurious.
