This elegant barware silver plate champagne ice bucket or wine cooler was crafted by Silversmith Desvignes, Paris, in the 1940s. The bold, streamlined design has a superb Art Deco feel. The solid stepped handles enable secure handling of this excellent piece, whether loaded or empty. The barware accessory is marked on the underside with the silversmith legal stamp and hallmarks.
The ice bucket is in good condition, with minor wear on the metal due to previous use. The inside is in excellent condition. The metal is shiny.
Measurements: 10.25 in wide (26 cm) x 8.07 in deep (20.5 cm) x 7.88 in high (20 cm) - container is 8.07 in diameter (20.5 cm).
Note: Desvignes was a French silversmith located in Paris, 3rd arrondissement.
The company was then bought by the goldsmith Lagriffoul et Laval. less
