Hawkes Inc. designed this superb streamlined American Art Deco barware pitcher in the 1940s. The sleek modernist super extra-tall design features a hand-blown Martini pitcher or mixer jug and a long stirrer spoon. The glass body of the pitcher has a geometric frosted lines pattern and is adorned with a tall and narrow chromed metal handle. The extra-long stirrer is made of stainless steel. There is no visible maker's mark.
The bar set is in good condition, with minor wear on the metal, but it does not significantly affect the overall appearance.
Measurements:
Pitcher: 5.13 in wide (13 cm) x 3.75 in deep (9.5 cm) x 14.19 in high (36 cm).
Stirrer: 17.75 in long (45 cm).
Note: the original Hawkes stirrer was lost or broken a long time ago, so we are providing you with a contemporary one of the right size so that the cocktail mixer jug will be ready to use upon arrival.

Please check the last two pictures for reference. These images are from the 1949 movie The Champion.
In the movie, a Hawkes skyscraper cocktail mixer is used by the bad girl, performed by Marilyn Maxwell, to stir a Martini for the boxer, played by Kirk Douglas. One sip and things are all over for the determined guy, who then leaves his honest manager and joins the racketeers.
In 1940, the Hawkes mixer was selected by the Museum Of Modern Art, New York, as the best showcase of modern design in moderately priced commercial items.
