There is some very slight age related discoloration to the background, but nothing as bad as it looks in the photos. The reflections on the glass were problematic when I was photographing. The unprotected silk on the back has some stains, especially the bottom of the middle panel. The gilt has some losses that can be seen in the photos. That is an easy fix with Rub-N-Buff, if it bothers you. less

Description: A wonderous 19th C French tri-fold screen with embroidered silk work that travels across all 3 panels. Expertly embroidered, using … more A wonderous 19th C French tri-fold screen with embroidered silk work that travels across all 3 panels. Expertly embroidered, using satin stitch for the roses, ribbons and vines, there is some gold couching accenting the outer bottom corners. The embroidered silk material is protected by glass. The back side of the screen is covered in a darker gold silk material but without glass. The top panels are beveled glass, except the largest panel which is not beveled. Each panel measures 18.75" across and screens folded width.

NOTE: There is light reflecting off the glass that is making this difficult to photograph. The silk background is more even in color than it looks.
