A psychologically penetrating, early twentieth century, figural oil painting of a bearded young man with bright eyes and a candid gaze, shown dressed in biblical clothing with his unruly hair held back by a braided hemp headband.
Displayed in an attractive, incised and water-gilded frame of the period.
Framed Size: 25 x 20 x 2 inches.
Homer Ross Williams studied at the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles (1926) and subsequently worked as an artist and commercial artist in Los Angeles in the 1930's and 1940's. He is listed in Edan Hughes, "Artists in California, 1786-1940".
