The history of the Fitzhugh pattern goes back to the early Spode period when the pattern was reproduced from a Chinese porcelain original in about 1800 probably as replacements for late 18th century imported services. Fitzhugh has been produced in a variety of colors over the years.
This elegant set of coffee canns and saucers in Spode's Fitzhugh Green pattern are from an old Cape Cod sea captain's house.
