This Really is an Exceptionally Nice Authentic Antique American Sterling Silver Young Child's - Baby Spoon. Circa Very Early 1900s. The Nursery Rhyme Motif Embossed Spoon Bowl Scene Depicts OLD MOTHER HUBBARD with her Cupboard, Fireplace Hearth & Kettle, Rocking Chair Etc. The Front of the Handle is Embossed with a Flower Garland that Appear to be Roses. The Handle is Also Hand Engraved with a Single Monogram "J" that I was Able to Document as Being in the "Old English" Style. The back of the Handle is Hand Engraved with the Year 1900 - This Indicating Most Likely the Date of Gift - Presentation as well as the Birth Date of the Child. The Back of the Handle is Also Embossed with a Patent Date of October 31, 1899 and Marked STERLING with the Documented "Banner Flag & H" Maker Mark of The Mechanics Sterling Company. It is is Very Nice All Original and Good Usable Condition. Minimal Age and Use Related Wear - No Damage. It is Lightly Tarnished - Sure to Polish Beautifully.
