Spano is the recipient of many honors and awards, including fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts, CameraWorks, and the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. Spano has exhibited his work at The Museum of Modern Art, the Cleveland Museum of Art, Harvard University’s Fogg Museum in Cambridge, The Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago, and the Los Angeles County Museum, among others.
