The excellent … Read more Inlaid chair made of ebony stained wood with backrest framed by twisted columns and decorations also in relief. The excellent quality with which it was made recalls the production of the milanese cabinetmaker ferdinando pogliani. The chair has symbols engraved on the underside of the seat which presumably identify its origin: these are fire-imprinted crowned lily decorations. Italian production from the late 19th century kingdom of italy. The backrest features inlays that frame a figure of a woman caressing a swan at the top, while in the center of the backrest we find a half-bust in relief adorned with graphic-floral decorations and griffins and grotesques; on the seat we have the image of a young neptune with a trident riding a grotesque sea.
