The central medallion image is modeled on the Book of Ruth, from the Old Testament, chapter 2, verse 7, “Let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves.”
The raised rim border shows the stalks and seed heads of the wheat plant, bound at intervals. The center is glazed in a mottled tortoiseshell of cobalt blue and browns. A dimensional medallion has a bare foot Ruth in the field gathering wheat sheaf. The medallion is encircled in a stylized cartouche. Beautifully glazed with a high gloss - Amazing color!
