These iconic lamps, designed in the 1960s by legendary designers Achille and Piergiacomo Castiglioni for Arteluce, represent a classic of Italian design. The Balum-A230 model combines the minimal and functional aesthetics typical of Castiglioni with the craftsmanship quality that has made Arteluce one of the most influential brands in the sector.
The design of these lamps perfectly reflects the philosophy of the Castiglionis, who aimed to create useful objects, with simple and clean lines, but which did not sacrifice innovation and originality. The Balum-A230 is a perfect example of this vision, combining elegance and functionality, and being suitable for both residential and commercial spaces.
The set, made up of four lamps, is a true collector's item and represents a rarity, capable of giving a touch of style and history to any environment.
An interesting detail is the presence of both the Arteluce and Flos brands on the back of the lamps. This is due to the fact that Flos acquired Arteluce in 1974, but continued to produce many iconic models such as the Balum-A230. The original design was respected and continued even after the acquisition. So, although these lamps were designed in the 1960s, it is possible that these specific units were produced later, during the transition or reissue period under Flos control.
Perfect for vintage settings, designer collections or contemporary spaces that want to add an accent of history and sophistication, these lamps are an example of excellence in 20th century design. An unmissable opportunity for those who want to own an authentic piece of the history of Italian design.
