A beautifully aged and well-preserved antique oak floating slat back rocking chair with curved slat seat, most likely dating from around the turn of the 20th century. Skillfully turned in the shaker style tradition with curved wooden slats held together metal rods and spacers to give the back a unique horizontal flatting slat appearance. The seat is also constructed of slats that are positioned at angles to create a bowed center.
Seat and Arm height are measured with the rocking chair in the forward position.
