Wonderful old early 19th Century ENGLISH PEWTER PLATTERS.
The larger of the two, measures 8 3/4" diameter, has a scalloped edge, On the reverse, a Tudor Rose stamp with a half crown hallmark. The second platter is 8 1/2" diameter with doubled lined scalloped edging. On reverse, appears two makers marks of a rose, probably Yorkshire or Lancashire as in "War of the Roses". Looking at Richard Mundy's book of Pewter Hallmarks, I haven't found maker, probably provincial. However, they are a sweet pair of platters.
