Hello!
I'm Edie Macias, creator of this work of art and owner of " Miami Vintage Decor" I find this part of my life the perfect compliment to my job as a purveyor of fine vintage and antique art and furniture.
My creative process starts with sketches and drawings; then I start creating these complex forms. It is all about the expression and emotions of the human face. To me being self taught with the arts gives me a great sense of accomplishment.
This plaster sculpture explores the intersection of form and function through geometric abstraction. The work suggests a fusion of mechanical elements—circular components resembling gears or discs—within an asymmetrical structure. The surface is intentionally left with rough textures and small indentations, hinting at the artistic process and the material’s raw nature. The sculpture contrasts organic imperfections with an underlying sense of calculated design, inviting viewers to interpret it as both a playful reimagining of industrial shapes and an evocative architectural form.
I use artistic plaster and then I start molding manually all the form. Even Though the process is rather timely, I execute all the details manually.
They are the perfect addition to a Mid-century Modern home or to any art collection.
