Beautifully and intricately hand carved out of solid walnut. not an easy task, and makes a wonderful trivet or a hot plate while in the flat position. To transform it into a basket, simply pull up one side of the outer handle and the wood will expand upward with it. Intended as a decorative piece, great for holding fruit or candies (with a cloth napkin underneath), small trinkets, potpourri and more, (but not for contact with food).
