Hobbs (Am. 1892-1967) did many etchings and engravings of the South, particularly New Orleans where he eventually died. This etching shows the chaos of Mardi Gras on Canal Street and is pencil signed by the artist in the lower right and dated in the etching 1940, pencil titled in the lower left with an edition of 100. Great framing on the print which has a mate we are listing separately.

Condition: Print appears to be in good condition with some light discoloration, not examined outside the frame. Some wear and aging to the frame.
