This Marc Chagall rare offset lithograph print museum exhibition poster " A Wheatfield on a Summer's Afternoon " 1942, is a very special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The museum poster print is published by The Dallas Museum of Art, printed in 2013 in an unnumbered limited edition on the occasion of the " Beyond Color " exhibition of the artworks of the world famous Expressionist artist Marc Chagall.
The exhibition poster print features an artwork image originally created by Chagall in 1942 titled " A Wheatfiled on a Summer's Afternoon ", Study for backdrop for Scene III of Aleko. It was created for the 1942 set design for The Ballet Theater of New York's production of Aleko, music by Stravinsky.
Marc Chagall ( 1887 - 1985 ) the French Russian born Jewish Expressionist artist is known for both his sense of color and fluid aesthetic. The early Modernist artworks explore concepts and themes of spirituality, angelic influences, and the Jewish cultural life human experience. Chagall is commonly regarded as the quintessential preeminent Jewish artist of The 20th Century. His mastery of the expressive language of color, and creations in nearly every medium and form of art won him recognition as a leading figure in world Modern Art.
The rare out of print museum exhibition poster print measures 28" W X 17" H. It is printed on high quality premium smooth finish paper stock with vibrant ink colors in a satin finish.
