The table has a removable leaf, allowing the owner to manipulate the size of the table when needed. The chairs have a shield shape back with ribbon designs, typical of Hepplewhite’s style, with hand-caned seats on a trapezoidal frame. The wood itself is a warm yellowish-gold with close grain. Satinwood can transform to a rich buttery satin-like finish when polished. It is sought after for its use in marquetry, is exceptionally hard, and has a natural luster to the surface. Deemed as the 'wood of kings', this dining set is incredibly unique and rare.
