It features a solid base and square slab top fused with an 1/8th inch space between them. Perfect as a side table between 2 oversized modernist sofas, as a coffee table in an office suite, anywhere that commands a taller than normal 32" square table. Jens Risom (1916–2016) was a Danish-born designer who brought Danish modern design to the United States. After moving to New York, Risom met Hans Knoll, marking the start of an extraordinary collaboration. Together, they introduced a fresh style to North American office and home interiors. Risom was Knoll's first designer, joining the company as it launched during World War II. Faced with the challenge of finding non-war production facilities, Risom innovatively used rejected parachute straps in his iconic 650 line. Following his military service as a translator, Risom returned to a transformed Knoll, now heavily influenced by Florence Knoll. Recognizing it was time for a new direction, Risom left to establish his own practice, Jens Risom Design. less
