This really is an Great Looking Antique Country Primitive Stoneware Jug. Circa 1860s - Mid 19th Century. Small 1 Gallon Size Measuring Approx 11 3/4 inches Tall (Not Including Wood Stopper) x 7 3/4 inches Wide - Long. It has a Classic American Style Salt Glaze Exterior that is Very Nicely Hand Decorated with a Large Blue Stylized Flower Design. The Front is Embossed With the Well Documented Brantford Ontario Canadian Makers Name - Reads " W. E. WELDING BRANTFORD, ONT.". It is Unusual to Find These Types of American Style Stoneware that were Canadian Made. These Smaller Size Jugs were Commonly Used to Store a Variety of Liquids - Spirits - Liquor - Ciders - Vinegar - Spring Water Etc. NOTE That is Also Has the Added Feature of its Most Likely Carved Wood Stopper - Plug!. Back in the Day These Types of Stoneware Items were a Necessity in Most of Americas Farms and Household's and They were Made - Intended For Everyday Utilitarian Use. It is in Very Good All Original Condition and it Displays Beautifully. No Damage - No Repairs - No Cracks.
