This spectacular tetradrachm [coin] of Athena and an owl is trimmed with 18 karat gold, and is from 430 to 420 BC. On the obverse side is the head of Athena, wearing a circular earing and a crested helmet with three olive leaves. On the reverse side, an owl faces right with letters "AOE" written down the right side. On the owl's left is an olive sprig and a lunar moon; all within an incusive square. This coin is 26 mm and weighs 17 grams. This coin has been inspected and approved to be authentic by a professional Numismatic who specializes in ancient coinage.
