Classic hand turned and hand painted antique blue and white Chinese ceramic ginger jar with a wrap-around scene portraying a lakeside village in cobalt blue under a grey-white glaze. Exquisite hand carved rosewood cover with a very detailed reticulated design.
No markings.
Circa 1850.
Condition is very good with typical manufacturing (kiln) flaws including an internal firing hairline to underside (glazed over doesn't degrade integrity whatsoever).
A lovely antique piece that will look great in the home as well as being useful
