Note: Huib Bijl lived from 1939 to 1997. After his training at the photography school in The Hague, Bijl established himself as a visual artist in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel. He received lessons from Jensiush Hoogendijk and Gerard Wolvekamp.
Bijl painted landscapes, city, and harbor scenes, but mainly worked as an etcher. Rotterdam was one of his favorite subjects. Since his death, his work continues under the supervision of his wife, Ch. Bijl-Brandenburg, who often assisted him. less
