C.1910-30s; A wonderful vintage Asian salt-glazed, Majolica lidded vase/urn, and ginger jar, emblazoned with an array of water-lilly pad fronds, … Read more C.1910-30s; A wonderful vintage Asian salt-glazed, Majolica lidded vase/urn, and ginger jar, emblazoned with an array of water-lilly pad fronds, pink tulips with incised textural linear details, and topped off with an exotic, tropical bird or roadrunner bird to the front of this Ginger Jar. Also if one quarter turns this there is a round medallion-like pictorial symbol, and if one keeps turning it in a clock-wise formation, we come upon the backside, whereupon we see a heart-shape image. A wonderful and often used universal, color combinations in many Majolica pieces, are as in this piece; of a mustard yellow to ochre, and/or orange amber, with green counterpoint color, in addition to the use of soft pinks and soft baby blues or sky blue colorations, as is evident here, along with the proverbial browns. They are intrinsically intertwined in the process and colorations, beyond the continent and provenance country. This also has the original oak stand, stamped on the underside with Hong Kong republic, as well as the Ginger Jar, which is imprinted with country's or Republics provenance, as is stated Hong Kong n the underside, and last image. This is in very good condition, with minor interior wear, as the is a white, scratch coat terra-cotta, salt-glazed process Majolica from Hong Kong.
