A hand-colored lithograph from John Gould's Birds of Europe, c.1832-1837.
John Gould (1804-1881) was a well-known English ornithologist and bird artist, and the most prolific publisher of bird subjects. He travelled extensively, recording birds from all over the world.
The lithograph is framed in a narrow gilt frame, matting is embellished with french lines.
