Johnston was a renowned Scottish potter (hence the resemblance to English patterns), he was active in Bordeaux, France, during the 19th century. His pottery production in Bordeaux began in the early 1830s and continued until around the 1860s. Johnston's factory became well-known for producing high-quality creamware. See less
