Taking center stage are two fully bloomed peonies amid verdant foliage, worked in meticulous detail, set against emerald green background depicting bamboos. Ginbari is a technique where the maker wraps the textured body in shimmering foils before applying artworks and enamels. The result is a beautiful iridescent background with subtle artworks which become visible under certain light angles. The images of peonies and bamboos symbolize great prosperity and continuous advancement. Signed at the base rim with Sato mark and signature. In excellent antique condition with natural patina on the rims and all enamels intact. less
