Flat lozenges of amber-hued citrine glass are bordered with tiny fluted silver-plated caps, alternating with tiny citrine beads. Each lozenge is etched with a stylized double wing design. The style elements are Egyptian Revival, evocative of the ancient times in that country. The discovery of King Tut's tomb made everything "Egyptian" all the rage in the Twenties, especially in the jewelry. This is a subtle and seductive example of that intriguing passion.
