This incredible dish is very rare to find in this large size - 15" diameter. It is hand forged from tinned copper and engraved. Much of the tin, which made the piece food-safe, has worn away, leaving the underlying copper spotted with silver tin. The engravings resemble foliage and fruit patterns, which form a circle on the rim of the dish. Most likely it has been used to serve sweets and fruits in the Middle East past eras. There is a hanger on the back side, that was apparently added later to use the dish as a decorative piece on the wall. The bottom has several concentric circles incised, and the center outside bottom shows evidence of hand-forging.
Absolutely stunning antique piece from the Middle East.

Approximate measurements: 15 1/4" diameter, 2" tall less
