George Nelson Marshmallow Sofa, metal and upholstery. Original design 1956, this is an early 2000s production from Herman Miller. Upholstery is 50% 2000’s Herman Miller textile (blue) and 50% Alexander Girard vintage textile (red).
George Nelson's Marshmallow Sofa transforms the traditional sofa into a playful three-dimensional object with eighteen colourful cushions attached to a simple steel frame. Due to the unusual form and construction of the Marshmallow Sofa, it is one of the most extraordinary sofas in the history of design. Fully marked.
