This Really is an Outstanding Example of a Authentic Antique American Primitive Stoneware Storage Jug. Large Size - It is Embossed with a Number 3 Confirming its 3 Gallon Liquid Storage Capacity. It is Also Embossed - Signed by the Well Documented Maker REIDINGER & CAIRE in POUGHKEEPSIE NEW YORK. Records Indicate that this Company was Formed by the Partnership of Philip Riedinger and Adam Caire Producing Stoneware Items From Approx 1857 to 1878. It is Rendered in a "Beehive" Form and it has a Classic American Salt Glaze Exterior. The Front of the Jug has a Very Large & Elaborate Hand Decorated Blue Stylized Flower Decoration. Back in the Day These Types of Stoneware Items were a Necessity in Most of Americas Farms and Household's and They were Made - Intended For Everyday Utilitarian Use. These Types of Jugs were Commonly Used to Store Liquids such as Ciders, Vinegar, Ales, Liquors & Spirits, Spring Water Etc. It is in Excellent Original Condition and it Displays Beautifully.
