Set of 3 armchairs made with Barley Twist Ebonized rattan frame and cane backrest and woven cane over wooed seat. The chairs are quite strong due to bentwood supports under the sloping arms as well as bentwood leg supports as well as cross stretchers and under seat rattan rod girds. While many rattan wicker chairs often develop loosened legs arms and or backs these chairs remain completely strong showing no signs of fatigue. This trio of ebonized chairs have a patina created by rubbing the highpoints of the surface and thus exposing the blonde wood beneath the black surface and the result is a distressed chair that is difficult to duplicate but a breeze to enjoy.
The set is complimented with a simple green and taupe striped cushion at the seat and palm tree embroidered cushions with a thick fringe of olive green; maker is unknown; Philippines; circa 1990s. See photos for more details. less
