This is a wonderful old 19th century Eastlake Folding Chair with tapestry fabric back and seat is in overall very good antique condition.
Even though Eastlake furniture is from the Victorian period, it breaks away from the usual high relief carving, classical elements and curves associated with furniture produced during this timeframe. It has a more Folk/Arts and Crafts feel and uses more angular hand carved features.
This beautiful old chair measures 35.5" tall (when opened with legs spread) and has a depth of 21" from front to back.. Chair is 20" wide arm to arm and inside seat area width is 15". The chair back is 22" from tapestry seat to top of spindle. Folded chair is approx. 41" long. The tapestry fabric on this chair is old but does not appear to be original, and it is in overall good condition. less
