Description: A beautiful 19th century Chinese wash stand of solid fir wood, hand carved with peonies in the center splat. Under … more A beautiful 19th century Chinese wash stand of solid fir wood, hand carved with peonies in the center splat. Under the top rail which is decorated with carved flanges, a pair of carved dragon scrolls flank a horizontal double dragon scrolls, the same theme is repeated under the hand carved soap tray. The stand continues on to form the basin holder with total of six rounded columns, four of which with a 'treasure lotus pearl" finial. This wonderful piece was an important element of a young lady's bedroom, allowing easy access and elegant private grooming. The washstand is light weight but sturdy, all structures firmly intact, can be used as a plant stand. less
