A listed Danish still-life and animal painter, Gunnar Bundgaard first studied at Copenhagen's Gronvang School before furthering his studies in Sweden and France. Bundgaard was particularly influenced by the work of the romantic academic style of Niels Pederson Mols of the Royal Danish Academy.
