Oil still-life of a bouquet of ocher, rose, cobalt, lavender, and ivory wildflowers, informally arranged in a goblet against a background of rust and periwinkle.
Signed lower right, "Bordás Ferenc" (Hungarian, 1911 - 1982).
This noted Hungarian Expressionist and member of the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts studied in Austria and Italy and was known both for painting and graphic work. From 1937 on, Ferenc exhibited regularly in Budapest and was the recipient of numerous prizes, medals and juried awards including Budapest, Hamburg, Lugano and Florence (1965). less
