This is a Great Looking and Uniquely Decorative Antique Cast Iron Embossing Stamp - Press. American in Origin. LARGE SIZE! - Measuring 12 Inches Tall. It has Classic Mid Victorian Era Red and Gold Paint Decorated Features. When you Insert a Piece of Paper Between the 2 Stamp Discs and Press Down Firmly in on the Spring Loaded Handle it Reads " TURNERS FALLS LUMBER COMPANY 1872. As the Stamp Indicates it Would have been Made For and Used by the Well Documented and Historical Massachusetts Turners Falls Lumber Company Most Likely at the Very Beginning of the Companies Founding. NOTE that These Types of Embossing Stamps were Typically Used for Notary Public Purposes but Apparently They Were Also Used for Other Business as Well. It is in Very Good Condition - Aged and Rustic - Exactly How it Has Survived Over the Years.
It Measures Overall Approx 12 inches Tall x 7 1/8 inches Long x 2 1/2 inches Wide.
