This is a superb French Louis XV style Chinoiserie desk by the country's finest furniture manufacturer Karges. Karges of Evansville, Indiana has always made the best furniture our country could produce. They used the finest materials in construction. Top grain leather, genuine cast bronze mounts and hardware, and hand-painted raised Chinoiserie painted scenes by the best artists. This desk has a time-worn look for years of love and will show wear to the finish, gilded areas and the leather top. But it is still fantastic. The desk dates to the 1950s era.
